4 - 7 day treks.

On our 4 day Discovery Trek you will really get a sense of how it is to be in the rainforest and feel what is happening around you. Having the middle 2 days as full days of simply trekking (not transferring etc)  very much allows you to soak up the rainforest atmosphere, search for wildlife and visit some beautiful areas of the remote jungle, walk through rivers, explore unusual caves, swim in a waterfall, spot kingfishers...
On this trek you get to see both the classic touristy trek area of Bukit Lawang along with its habituated widlife and the remote area of Bukit Kencur and embrace a virtually pristine jungle atmosphere.

Day 1:After an early breakfast you will walk downriver from Green Hill then transfer directly (30 min by motorbike or jeep) to the village of Tualang Gepang/Bukit Kencur and enter the virtually untouched rainforest and begin your trek. You will almost certainly not meet any other people! There is plenty of wildlife here and it can be more tricky to spot as it is not used to humans BUT dont worry...you will have a regular guide and also you will be joined by a tracking guide from the local village who used to be a hunter and he will share with you his knowledge of the trails and the flora and fauna. During your trek you must also remember to take time to simply embrace the amazing atmosphere of the jungle environment and perhaps do a spot of forest bathing!. You will stop for water breaks as needed, a mid morning fruit snack and after a tasty lunch around mid-day you will continue your trek. Dependant on the weather you will aim to get to a remote camp around 3-4pm where tea and biscuits will be waiting for you. You will sleep in a bamboo frame tent covered with thick plastic sheets and your evening meal will consist of a selection of local Indonesian dishes freshly prepared and cooked over a camp fire. ALL our guests absolutely love the food on the treks!
Day 2: Today you will have a full day trekking and exploring, perhaps following any signs or sounds that you saw/heard on the first day. You will move to a different camp.
Day 3: Another full days trekking and moving towards another camp on the edge of the rainforest OR you can relax at camp and purely soak up the jungle atmosphere whilst keeping lookout along the river and in the treetops.
Day 4: After an early breakfast you will trek out of the jungle and transfer directly back to Bukit Lawang where you will continue your trek for around 3-4 hours and have good chances of spotting wildlife. After a light lunch you will return to Green Hill by a refreshing and exhilirating raft ride down the Bohorok river.

COST in IDR per person (min 2 people) = 3,400,000 IDR
Includes: all permits (national park and guide association), guide, assistant, tracking guide, fruit snacks, all meals and drinks, camp cook, porter, rafting captain, rafting equipment/porter, return motorbike transfer. For jeep transfer add 400,000 idr onto the cost.
